How can Physiotherapy help?

Physiotherapy is the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal problems in order to provide optimal healing and pain relief following injury to bone, muscle, nerve, ligament and joint injuries or disease.

If you have had an acute injury through sport or accident, or a long term chronic problem such as low back or neck pain, physiotherapy can help.

Musculoskeletal Problems Assessed

The GetPhysio practice offers a comprehensive approach to a wide variety of musculoskeletal problems, such as:

  • Low back and neck pain
  • Sports injury
  • Joint and muscle injury or pain
  • Prehab exercises to get you in the best possible shape before you have surgery e.g. pre-ACL reconstruction
  • Hip or knee replacement, spinal surgery
  • Rehabilitation following fracture or any of the above and more (please enquire)
  • Arthritic conditions e.g. osteoarthritis, spondylosis

Treatment, Management and Prevention

Treatment: Treatment will be consequential to the findings at assessment, which may include mobilisation of a stiff joint, stretching of soft tissues, or strengthening of weakened muscles.

Management: You will be encouraged to take active involvement of the management of your problem, through full explanation and understanding, which may include the tasking of prescribed exercises or stretching integral to recovery.

Prevention: Part of injury prevention or re-occurrence is the understanding of the mechanism of injury in the first instance.
